Throughout his studies, Nick was the recipient of a number awards and scholarships, including a Curtin Engineering Excellence Scholarship and ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholarship. He also contributed to the development of the Curtin chapter of Engineers Without Borders as an active volunteer for their High School Outreach program.
Nick gained a great deal of industry experience whilst at Curtin, having performed internships in the gold, coal, copper/zinc and liquefied natural gas industries. These opportunities allowed him to travel around Australia, having worked in rural Queensland, the Western Australian goldfields, and Darwin city.
In 2013 he spent a year studying at the Western Australian School of Mines in Kalgoorlie. This then led to him undertaking an exchange program at Hokkaido University in Japan to expand his horizons and initiate a relationship between the two institutions.
Since graduating, Nick is working as a Graduate Process Engineer at Minara Resources’ Murrin Murrin Operation.
