Carissa graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Arts (Communication and Cultural Studies – Performance Studies) in 2010 and went on to complete a Master of Applied Linguistics in 2016. During this time, she volunteered as an English tutor for the Australian Migrant English Program, assisting new Australian migrants to improve conversational English skills.
In 2013 Carissa commenced a position at UDIA WA, where she currently works as a Policy and Research Officer. Through her role here Carissa developed a strong interest in the operation and interaction of the economy and property market, and environmental variables which may impact this in the future. She is further exploring this through her Master of Economic and Regional Development studies.
Carissa joined the YAAB as an Event Coordinator to further her passion for lifelong learning and education and enabling people to undertake a diverse range of educational and professional development opportunities to equip them for the changing face of the workforce.
