POSTPONED – Authors in schools: how to organise and host a successful author visit

January 1, 2020
4.30pm to 6.30pm
Curtin Perth, Building 211, room 222, Kent St, Bentley WA 6102
Curtin alumni
$40 - $80

Curtin University has decided to postpone all event bookings for its Perth Campus until further notice.

We have made this decision in light of the increasing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of acting responsibly to protect all those on our campus and in our community, and the recent announcement by the Prime Minister regarding the need to reconsider large, non-essential events.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but believe it is the most responsible course of action.

If you would like to be notified of any future updates regarding this event, please contact us via learninghub@curtin.edu.au.

**NOTE: the event details listed above are no longer accurate. When a new date is confirmed, this information will be updated.

Do you want to inspire your students by hearing from an author?

Author visits to schools and libraries are exciting incursion opportunities, with potential benefits in reading and writing. It can be a challenge to ensure that the cost and time commitment have immediate and long term benefits for students, so this session will help teachers and librarians make the most of an author visit through planning, implementation and follow up.

Author and educator Dr Sally Murphy will help you get the most out of a visit, from finding and booking an author, to maintaining the momentum after the visit.
